About
What is BapPerf ?
BapPerf supports performance by archiving and disseminating the creations of students and artists from the School of Fine Arts in Paris.
The archived performances were created during the artists’ years of study in order to make visible the student creation.
This site is a living and dynamic case study: by testifying to current and past creations, it visualizes the work of several generations.
This platform is for artists, a space of visibility, an archive and a kind of social network. It eventually allows for the exchange of contacts and the creation of professional opportunities. It is also a mediation tool dedicated to understanding performance by addressing everyone (general public, artists, institutions).
Site archiving policy: respect the integrity of the work
The artist’s work does not stop after the moment of the act or representation. The way he presents his work, particularly through the archive, is an artistic choice.
Regarding the digital platform, we consider that it is up to the artists to choose how to show and select their archives. It is for this reason that they benefit from a customizable page and that they are the authors.
They can at any time delete or add new information. This also shows the diversity of archiving methods.
